Shop Information

"Ozu Washi" was established as a paper wholesale store called "Ozuya" in Nihombashi in 1653. Since then, during more than 360 years since then our company has continued in our original location.

In our gallery, a variety of exhibitions such as Shodo (Calligraphy), paintings and paper art have been held. Our gallery is available for an exhibit space regardless of genre.

We offer various classes across genres including Shodo (Calligraphy) and Suiboku-ga (Sumi art).

Notice of the change in business hours Based on measures instituted by the Japanese government to contain the spread of the coronavirus, Ozuwashi( Shop, Gallery, History Museum, Handmade Washi Experience Studio )will change the opening hours(10am to 5pm) for the time being. In addition, Cultural Classes will be opened as usual. We apologize for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.

Notice of the temporary store closure About temporary store closure due to air conditioning system construction. Because of the deterioration of the air conditioning system, repair construction will be carried out on the following dates. During the period, the whole building will be closed.

The book "Washi" You can now buy "Washi"(Complied by Ozu Washi, published with Asahi press ) at our shop, our museum and online.
The book is 58 pages and is bilingual in Japanese and English.
